FRESHENING UP A SMALL TELEPHONE CHAIR



I FOUND THIS OLD TIRED ,SCRAPED &  CHIPPY  TELEPHONE CHAIR IN A LOCAL THRIFT STORE . 

 A LITTLE PAINT AND SOME FRESH UPHOLSTERY AND THIS CHAIR WILL HAVE A WHOLE NEW LOOK !!

I FINDING THAT THE MORE I THRIFT , THE MORE I AM DRAWN TO THOSE OLD TIRED  ITEMS THAT OTHERS JUST PASS BY WITHOUT EVEN A SECOND LOOK 




SOME OLD WHITE ASCP 

SANDING & DISTRESSING STILL SHOWING HER "OLDEN  DAY GLORY" 

 


REMOVE THE SEAT AND REUPHOLSTER THE SEAT WITH SOME NEW
UPHOLSTERY FABRIC
WAX WITH SOME ASCP WAX

 


HERE SHE IS READY AND WAITING FOR THAT NEXT CELL PHONE CALL !!

I love these chairs. So I don't know how old you are but if you are old like me you remember when you had to have a chair by the phone so you could sit while you were tethered to the phone. The upholstery fabric you chose is cool.

Oh yes, I am defiantly old enough to remember the rotary dial phone with sometimes a party line ( shared line ) .We were plugged into the wall and if you lucky you had a long cord to walk a short distance . This chair could also be used as a vanity chair . The fabric is from Ikea . Have great Day !!

She looks fresh and pretty now! I just finished a gossip bench and I was thinking about old phones and how kids today would be shocked at our antiquated technology. I remember having a party line and sometimes having to wait "forever" to make a call. Now everything happens in an instant!
